A versatile pianist

In a clip from the 1984 film documentary "L. A. Legends Of Rhythm & Blues" Lloyd Glenn (piano) performs Leroy Carr's classic "How Long Blues."

Active on the West coast beginning in 1941 pianist Lloyd Glenn played with various jazz bands and found employment as a session musician and arranger. He appeared on a number of hits with Lowell Fulson in 1949 including "Everyday I Have The Blues." He also enjoyed a couple of R&B hits in the early '50s while simultaneously playing piano in New Orleans jazz trombone legend Kid Ory's band.
