Bluesman J.B. Hutto is featured in a half-hour
documentary from 1976
J.B. Hutto (1926-83) was an underrated but talented bluesman.
After stints on drums and piano, he switched permanently to the guitar during the 1950s, also developing into a fine singer.
A period outside of music ended in the mid-1960s when Hutto led the Hawks and recorded for several labels, being an active musician up until his death from cancer at the age of 57.
This fascinating half-hour film, which was put together in 1976, has Hutto talking about his life and performing versions of a few of his songs.
It is a valuable addition to the musical legacy of J.B. Hutto.
