Woman Of Slide
Bonnie Raitt (slide-guitar & vocals) is featured at "A Tribute To Stevie Ray Vaughan" broadcast live on Austin City Limits on May 11, 1995 honoring Stevie with a performance of his blues classic "Pride And Joy."
The daughter of Broadway musical star, Bonnie Raitt was born in Burbank, California. She attended the Oakwood Friends School in Poughkeepsie, New York, and after graduating in 1967 entered Radcliffe College majoring in social relations and African studies. Her life was forever changed when she took a semester off and moved to Philadelphia with a number of local musicians during her sophomore year. By 1970 she was opening for Mississippi Fred McDowell at New York's Gaslight Café, with her first album released the following year.
