Fuller's One-Man Band
Jesse Fuller is featured singing his famous "San Francesco Bay Blues" during a 1960's performance while simultaneously incorporating 12-string guitar, harmonica, kazoo, cymbal, and fotdella; a foot-operated percussion bass instrument of his own creation.
When Jesse Fuller decided work professionally as a musician he had trouble finding other instrumentalists to work with. So he started playing locally as a one-man band in San Francisco bay area. Fuller became more widely known when he performed on television in both the Bay Area and Los Angeles, and in 1958 his recording career started with his first album on the Good Time Jazz record label. Fuller died in January 1976 in Oakland, California, from heart disease. He was 79 years of age.
