The Delta in Chicago
Eddie Taylor (guitar & vocals) performs with his band.
With a heavy delta blues influence blended with the new streamlined Chicago sound Eddie Taylor is captured on film for the performance of a rural classic written by "Father of the Delta Blues", Charley Patton.
A self taught guitarist from Benoit, Mississippi, Taylor played in and around Leland before moving to Chicago in 1949. He is credited with teaching the rudiments of the instrument to Jimmy Reed to whom he would become a well known accompanist.
